The role in detail

Western Downs Civil is recruiting for Ganymirra and Majors Creek Solar Power Station, a solar farm near Woodstock, Queensland, delivered by DT Infrastructure as EPC. This campaign recruits the plant operators of the Civil W1 wave, on the bulk earthworks, roads, pads and cable trenches of the site.

What you will do

• Operate excavators, graders, rollers, water carts or articulated dump trucks on earthworks
• Cut, fill, trim and compact to the survey set-out and the engineer’s levels
• Trench and backfill for cable routes and drainage
• Complete pre-start checks and report defects rather than working around them

You will need

• Competency tickets for the plant you operate and proven hours on civil earthworks
• A White Card and a driver’s licence
• An eye for levels and finished surfaces, and respect for the survey pegs
• The habit of working safely around people, services and other machines

• Employment: Casual
• Pay: $41 an hour + penalties
• Penalty rates: Yes — award penalty rates apply
• Accommodation details: Roster: Mon–Sat; 10-hour days; shuttle from Townsville. Site about 40 km from Townsville; transport from Townsville to be arranged by the candidate; no camp.
