The role in detail

Western Downs Civil is recruiting for Ganymirra and Majors Creek Solar Power Station, a solar farm near Woodstock, Queensland, delivered by DT Infrastructure as EPC. This campaign recruits the labourers of the Civil W1 wave: earthworks, drainage, trenching and the pads and access roads the piling and mechanical fronts will follow.

What you will do

• Work alongside plant operators and the leading hand on earthworks, drainage and trenching
• Place and compact material and assist with the installation of pipes, pits and drainage
• Install erosion and sediment controls and keep them maintained
• Move materials, tools and equipment around the work area and keep work fronts and access roads clean and safe

You will need

• Experience on civil or construction sites is preferred, but not required for every position
• The physical fitness to perform repetitive outdoor construction work in a hot climate
• A White Card
• The ability to work effectively as part of a civil crew

• Employment: Casual
• Pay: $34 an hour + penalties
• Penalty rates: Yes — award penalty rates apply
• Accommodation details: Roster: Mon–Sat; 10-hour days; shuttle from Townsville. Site about 40 km from Townsville; transport from Townsville to be arranged by the candidate; no camp.
