The role in detail

CATCON is recruiting for Smoky Creek and Guthrie's Gap Solar Power Station, a solar farm near Biloela, Queensland, delivered by DT Infrastructure as EPC. This campaign recruits the leading hands of the Civil W1 wave, working alongside the crew they lead.

What you will do

• Lead the crew on the work front, working alongside them
• Allocate the day’s tasks, tools and materials and keep the work fronts moving
• Run pre-starts and take-fives with the crew and report hazards and progress upward
• Check the quality of what the crew places before the inspector does

You will need

• Construction experience with time spent leading a small crew
• A White Card and a driver’s licence
• Clear communication with a crew and with supervision, in both directions
• The judgement to stop a task that is not safe or not right

• Employment: Casual
• Pay: $43 an hour + penalties
• Penalty rates: Yes — award penalty rates apply
• Accommodation: Camp accommodation
• Accommodation details: Roster: 2:1 DIDO/FIFO from Brisbane or Rockhampton. Construction camp with meals; 2:1 roster; DIDO/FIFO from Brisbane or Rockhampton.
